What is SoundMap?

Understanding your environment as a blind or severely visually impaired person is hard, very hard.  White canes are used to avoid near obstacles. Apps or different types of devices can be used to find objects or get navigation instructions. All these devices offer limited feedback and require long training.

SoundMap is the world’s first device to combine all this information in a single device. It can be worn as a belt or a harness. The cameras embedded on the device capture the environment, and our artificial intelligence algorithms filter the most relevant information, before guiding the user with sounds or vibrations.

Why is it different?

SoundMap provides real-time feedback on your environment to make your daily navigation easier and safer.

Discovering new places easier than ever before. Switch it on, and explore!

Training in order to use a new device is always costly and cumbersome. SoundMap has been designed to be as intuitive as possible.

Why we built this?

Our small team of passionate engineers has been working on SoundMap since April 2020. After meeting associations and blind users, we decided to apply our knowledge in computer vision to create a small and light device that provides intuitive feedback on the environment.
